Alfred M. Davis
Principal
Mr. Davis has over 400 residential and multi-unit complexes, commercial, industrial structures and tenant improvement projects to his credit. Mr. Davis has over thirty-five years of experience in Project Design, Preparation of Construction Documents, Expediting and Construction Management.
Mr. Davis has professional affiliations with the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, Latin Business Association, The National Trust for Historic Preservation, The Highland Park Heritage Trust, and The Professional Design Coalition.

Key Personnel
Pablo Cardenas
Project Manager
Mr. Cardenas has over 20 years of design and drafting experience which has included major housing and commercial projects.
Some of his commercial experience has included the Moreno Valley Shopping Center, Mt. Tabor Community Missionary Baptist Church,
The Hong Kong Trade Development Building, Rio Hondo College, Thrifty Drug Stores and Pep Boys.
Mr. Cardenas is especially experienced in multi-unit and senior citizen housing projects. One of his larger projects included Para Los Ninos, the Los Angeles Skid Row Child Care and Homeless Center. His housing knowledge of complex rehabilitation and remodeling needs has landed him various projects with the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA).
As an experienced expeditor, Mr. Cardenas has familiarized himself with all the current Department of Building and Safety codes and procedures and has established an impressive network of contacts within the various city and governmental agencies. Mr. Cardenas has been employed with Alfred M. Davis & Associates for 10 years. He holds a Bachelor of Architecture Degree from California State University of Pomona.
Grace M. Davis
Expeditor
Ms. Davis has 16 years experience in the Mayor's office as Deputy Mayor for the City of Los Angeles, where she acquired extensive knowledge of the city's departments processes and the people in charge. Her prior 10 years of experience with the U.S. Department of Labor extends her area of knowledge to all levels of government.
Her current duties include providing expediting services in relation to the building permit process, including interacting with Los Angeles and various other Southern California cities, Building,Planning, Public Works, Engineering, Fire and Health Departments. Ms. Davis is familiar with all aspects of the building department process; from initial code search, to filing for Variances and Conditional Use Permits, to final permit sign-offs.
Francisco A. James
Project CAD Manager
Mr. James is a Project CAD Manager whose experience has involved the design of various Office Buildings, Medical Facilities, Single-Family and Multi-unit complexes. Some of Mr. James' duties include preparing Construction Documents, Coordinating project drawings with all trade Consultants, reviewing Shop Drawing Submittals and Submittals from contractors, Construction Administration, Submittal of Differed approval and Change Orders, Field walk inspections of construction and General field reports.
Mr. James is an experience CAD operator on versions ADTS through DT10, Revit and MColor Presentation Software. Mr. James' project experience includes The California Mart, LAC & USC Medical Center Replacement Project, Redlands Community Hospital Woman’s Pavilion and Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital Replacement.
Mr. James is a graduate of Cal Poly Pomona and Los Angeles City College. Mr. James has been employed with Alfred M. Davis since May of 1987.
Consultants
Jess Esparza, C.E.
Civil Engineer
Mr. Esparza has over 35 years of experience in civil and structural engineering. This experience commenced with the City of Los
Angeles Department of Public Works and Department of Building and
Safety, where he directed and supervised activities related to Civil
Engineering in Public Works and building structures.
Since 1978, he has acquired over 10 years of experience as a private consultant, offering professional services in the field of Civil, Structural, Surveying and Land Planning.
Mr. Esparza offers the combined knowledge of decades of experience pertinent to municipal engineering for the design of streets, main line sewers, utilities, intersection design, drainage systems as well as structural design of new structures and the structural rehabilitation of existing buildings.
Mr. Esparza is a registered Civil Engineer in the State of California, and is a licensed General Engineering Contractor.
In 1958, Mr. Esparza received a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas at El Paso; he earned a Masters of Public Administration from the University of Southern California in 1974; and a Masters of Science, Environmental Engineer from West Coast University in 1976.
Ivan Varadi
Mechanical and Plumbing Engineering
Mr. Varadi has over 17 years of experience in plumbing engineering and air conditioning and fire protection design. His experience includes such projects as senior citizen housing, apartment complexes, single-family residences, office buildings, health facilities, health clubs, restaurants, and industrial projects.

Mr. Varadi received his degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Technical University of Budapest. He studied Air Conditioning Design and Plumbing Systems Design at University of California at Los Angeles. He is a Certified Plumbing Engineer and a State of California Licensed Contractor in HVAC.

Bradley Smith S.E.
Structural Engineer
Mr. Smith designs and analyzes a variety of buildings including industrial, commercial and residential structures. Those buildings involve concrete tilt-ups, subterranean garages, hillside, or un-reinforced masonry building criteria. Designs have included the fullrange of structural materials.
Mr. Smith is a graduate of the University of California at Los Angeles with a Bachelor of Science Degree. He is registered as a Structural Engineer and Professional (Civil) Engineer with the state of California.
Mr. Smith is affiliated with the Structural Engineers Association of Southern California; the American Institute of Steel Construction, American Concrete Institute, and the Consulting Structural Engineers Society.
Paul Kass P. E.
Electrical Engineering
With over 25 years of experience in the electrical engineering field, he has designed for Commercial, Residential, Industrial, Medical and Military Facilities.
His electrical designs have been integrated into a broad range of building sites in California. His projects include high end residential homes throughout the Los Angeles area such as, the renovation/upgrade design of the Department of Water & Power (DWP), G.O.B. Headquarters in Los Angeles, the Rancho Los Amigos Hospital, Sears Department Stores in Whittier and West Covina, Public Libraries in Venice and Porter Ranch, First Christian Church of Tarzana. Tenant Improvement designs for Wilshire-Bundy High Rise, Multi-Unit Town Home developments in Santa Monica and Oxnard. Multi-unit apartment complex developments; for the cities of Los Angeles, Palmdale and Lancaster. Santa Ana and Los Angeles Unified School Districts school modernization projects.
